Day 24

Day 24: Developing Confidence in Asking Questions

Today, I focused on improving my ability to ask questions in English, whether for information, clarification, or starting conversations. Asking the right questions is essential for real-life communication, so my goal was to practice forming questions naturally and fluently.

What did I do today?

Practicing Question Forms:

I reviewed how to form different types of questions, including:

Yes/No questions (e.g., “Do you like coffee?”).

WH-questions (e.g., “Where do you usually go on weekends?”).

Indirect questions (e.g., “Could you tell me where the station is?”).

I practiced asking each type of question aloud, focusing on correct grammar and pronunciation.

Role-Playing Conversations:

I created scenarios like meeting someone for the first time, visiting a store, or attending a class. I practiced starting conversations and asking follow-up questions to keep them going.

Question-Answer Practice:

I practiced both asking and answering questions, imagining a natural flow of conversation. For example, “What’s your favorite hobby?” followed by explaining my own hobbies.

How did I feel today?

Practicing questions made me realize how important they are for keeping a conversation alive. At first, I struggled with forming indirect questions correctly, but after repeating them, I started feeling more confident.

Achievements of the Day

Improved my ability to ask clear and grammatically correct questions.

Practiced starting and maintaining conversations using effective questions.

Plan for Tomorrow

Focus on listening to conversations and identifying the types of questions used.

Try to use indirect and follow-up questions in speaking practice to make conversations more engaging.
